The history of the Front participation association begins in 2006 when three ambitious students set up a new party called Front. This arose out of competition from student party SAM in the University Council. The aim of this new party was, among other things, to conduct a better university debate and to bring employee participation more to the attention of the student population.

In order to achieve these goals, the 2015-2016 faction took an extra step: the establishment of the participation association. It started as a three-member part-time board with a chairman, secretary and treasurer. Over the past few years, the association has grown and professionalized to such an extent that the position of president of the association has been full-time since 2019.
